Needed Fishermen to Test Products
When I develop new products I like to have feed back from fishermen to learn
what they think of my new product. The product maybe soft plastics, spinner
baits, jigs, hooks or line but the feedback I get from product testers is invaluable.
The way the program works is I send baits to fisherman to test for me. The
fisherman respond back to me with their comments. I like to have fishermen
from all over the USA. Just send me your email address & name. You will be on
list as a Products Tester. List. Use my submit form.

Reel Tip 1
It’s hot & getting hotter. The bass have gone deep but the grass is producing big bass.
The heat is hard on the fisherman but it is also hard on your reel. Have you ever picked
up your rod & reel and the reel was to hot to hold? What do you think that heat does to
your reel? The heat can thin your lubrication; stress the springs and other moving parts
in the reel. One problem we see at this time of the year is stress pinion yokes. Making
a cast should be a smooth and quiet action. Now if you make a cast and you hear a
squeal or a clicking sound something is wrong. A few of the possibilities that can
cause these problems are bearings, bad pinion gear or grease build up in the wrong
place. This type of problem is very disturbing when you are out in the boat fishing. As
stated earlier in this article heat and stress can cause problems. Now let’s try to pin
point the problem. You have ruled out the possibilities of bad bearings or pinion gear,
and the reel is clean with no build up of grease. You don’t see any problem but when
you cast the reel you still hear a noise. Let me suggest one tip that may make the
repair of this particular problem a success. Let’s take the pinion yoke out and inspect it
very closely with a good magnifying glass. Take a close look at the saddle of the yoke:
Look for two signs; 1. very fine stress cracks. 2. has the pinion gear worn down the
yoke in the saddle area. Replacing the pinion yoke could be the answer to solve the
problem. Remember working a bait such as flipping a jig in heavy grass combine with
the heat that we are having can really put your reels to the test.
Good Luck & Good Fishing.
