Broaddus Texas My Home Away From Home

I love fishing Sam Rayburn Lake, the number one bass fishing lake of all times. I
fish from Veach Basin to the 147 bridge north and south. I have been fishing on Big
Sam for 41 years and still can’t get enough fishing time on the lake. There is
nothing like casting my Hawg Stick out at the crack of dawn and watching it splash
down. Occasionally the action will start on that very first cast. When that Hawg Stick
splashes in the water I will feel that faint bump and the fight has started. I set the
hook hard and fight the bass back to the boat. It may be a small 14 inch bass but
sometimes it will be that twelve pound lunker and believe me that is a great way to
start the day.

Now, as I am older I have learned to slow down and hunt for the big bass. I am not
after numbers but I am after trophy bass. Some fisherman love to tournament fish
but I truly love to catch big bass and see other fishermen with me do the same. Any
hot summer mid day you may fine me in Broaddus Texas eating at the Dairy Mart or
at the Catfish Junction. The other day I went to the Jamboree and had a great time.
If you like to hear great singing and good family entertainment, check out the
Jamboree on Saturdays. They do a matinee and an evening show. If you are lucky
you might see Elvis. You will truly enjoy the entertainment and if you go eat at
Catfish Junction or the Dairy Mart you will love the food.  You can fish that morning,
eat lunch, catch the matinee and be in your boat at your favorite hole by 4 PM.
Remember I said earlier I love fishing Sam Rayburn Lake and catching big bass
but the other thing I love is the hospitality of Broaddus Texas.

I am like most people and need to make a living so after the weekend is over, I go
back to work for the week. I am lucky enough to also have a tackle shop in
Beaumont. If you have time, come by and we can talk fishing and I will be more than
happy to show you my brand of Stick’ EM Baits and I love to give fisherman some of
my new baits to try out and hear what they say about them. If you want to talk about
strategies for catching big bass I will talk forever. I look for big fish where other
fishermen are not. This can be difficult these days because it seems like the other
fisherman always notice when you hang that big one and they want to come visit
with you at that moment. I am usually pretty sociable but when I am on big fish I don’
t like other boats to come over next to me. Please stay about fifty yards away from
other fishermen when you see them on the water and by the way, there is no need
to run by them at 80 miles per hour. We all know that boats go faster than most of
the fishermen have sense to drive them. Ha, Ha.

Well as you can tell I truly enjoy the sport of fishing and I hope that you can come
visit me at my store in Beaumont or come see me in Broaddus.

Good Luck and Good Fishing
